WHAT YOU CAN LEARN FROM THE REPORT CARD ABOUT SCHOOL-BY-SCHOOL SPENDING

Visit your school’s 2020-21 report card and navigate to the Finance tab to view FY2019-20 expenditures at the school, district, and state.

Visit the Finance tab of your school’s 2020-21 report card and click “Compare Schools” to view spending per pupil for every school in the state, or filter by district. You can also click “Download Data File” to see state/local, federal, and total per-pupil expenditures organized by district for every school in the state.

Rhode Island does not report spending on services on a per-pupil basis. View, filter, and download School Level Data Exports to gather total spending on services by school and state.

Rhode Island provides demographics information under the student count on each school Report Card overview page. Note: visit the report card for School Year 2020-21 to collect FY2019-20 financial data, but the School Year 2019-20 to collect demographic data.

To identify demographically similar schools, visit the Data Center, click Downloads, and then click “Build a Table Tool.” Use “Statistical Tables” to create a “School Report” for October Enrollment in 2019-20. Then visit a school’s Report Card finance page and use the compare feature to view spending for comparison schools.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, limited outcomes data was collected for school year 2019-20. Visit each school’s report card to gather comparison details on spending, demographics, and any available outcomes data.
