Most of what you’ve heard about the new federal tax credit scholarship is that it could fund more students to go to private schools. Yes, that can happen.
Importantly, the law also permits school districts to participate, drawing on a brand new source of funding. We estimate that participating districts could draw in significant cash at a time when budgets are already squeezed.
